Winding Creek Ranch Mercantile

About Us

Established in 2022, Winding Creek Ranch Mercantile began as a pop-up at youth rodeos throughout the state. Initially filling a 10×10 space, Lindy carried items ranging from rodeo necessities (syringes, brushes, spray bottles) to toys and candy for the kids to keep entertained, all while David competed in team-roping with their niece, Ava.

It was Lindy’s lifelong passion for horses that sparked David’s interest into the western world. Together they purchased and established Winding Creek Ranch, a place where their working western lifestyle and family go hand in hand.

A grander vision beyond a pop-up booth coupled with the fact that a true mercantile requires a permanent location (and a whole lot of heart) resulted in Lindy and David opening their first retail shop with their daughter, Naomie-Lou.

Finding a brick and mortar was simple: Turner, tucked into the Willamette Valley just south of Salem, had been home for the Stueve-Nelson clan for nearly a decade, with their namesake ranch settled five miles south of town.

Winding Creek Ranch Mercantile’s opening day was March 16, 2023. Since then, “The Mercantile” (as it’s fondly dubbed) has specialized in western wear, tack, ropes, roping dummies, home goods, houseplants, and lots more.

Because of the encouragingly positive support from the community, Winding Creek Ranch Mercantile is now entering its fourth year of business and is looking forward to all that 2026 has to offer – from new events and in-store offerings to remodels and new products, there will be lots to look forward to this year!

We turned a warehouse into the western mercantile of our dreams, and we couldn’t be more proud. To everyone who supports us, shops with us, tells their friends and family about us, and follow us on social media.

Thank you, from the Winding Creek Ranch Family.
